Our story

A local crew, not a call centre

A One A Tree Care started with one arborist, a truck and a straightforward idea: do the work properly and the phone keeps ringing. A decade later we still operate that way. Kes runs the business and is on site for most jobs, so the person who quotes your tree is usually the person who climbs it.

We work across a wide range of properties — residential homes, managed rentals, commercial sites and development projects. Each one gets the same approach: assess first, explain what is actually needed, then do it safely and clean up afterwards.

Over ten years we have learned to take tree problems apart methodically and give homeowners fast, practical answers, whether that is routine hedge maintenance or a large removal over a roofline.

The honest answer, even when it costs us the job

Most tree work does not start as a big job. It is usually something that has been left a while — a tree creeping too close to the house, branches starting to interfere, a hedge that stopped fitting the space years ago.

When you are ready to deal with it, you want a team that keeps things simple and gets on with it. So we tell you what the tree actually needs. If pruning solves the problem, we will say so rather than quote a removal.

    Debris chipped and taken away, the ground raked, gear off your driveway. Clean-up is part of the quote, never an extra line at the end.

What actually happens when you call

  1. You call or send the form

    Tell us roughly what you have — how many trees, rough height, how close to the house. A qualified arborist picks up, not an answering service.

  2. We come and look

    Free on-site assessment. We check access, the tree’s condition, and whether Auckland Council consent applies before anything is quoted.

  3. You get it in writing

    A written quote with the scope spelled out — what comes down, what stays, what happens to the waste. No obligation to proceed.

  4. We do the work

    A job safety analysis on arrival, controlled rigging where access is tight, and a full clean-up before we leave the site.
